Ski area Espace San Bernardo - La Rosière/La Thuile

Cross-border skiing has a long tradition in La Rosière. Since 1986, the French ski area has been connected to La Thuile on the Italian side of the Little St. Bernard Pass via two ski lifts. Together, the ski station in the Tarentaise and the small village in the Aosta Valley form the "Espace San Bernardo" ski region. Here, around 143 kilometres of piste attract skiers and snowboarders every winter, who can be taken up to an altitude of 2,800 m via 37 lift systems and a gondola.

Thanks to this altitude, the alpine border region offers the best reliability of snow, especially in the high season. Overall, the descents offer a wide range to suit all winter sports enthusiasts. The gentle slopes in the La Rosière ski area attract beginners, while the picturesque La Thuile in the Italian part is an Eldorado for sporty skiers thanks to its numerous red pistes. They get their money's worth on the 11-kilometre-long descent no. 7, the San Bernardo, while overcoming a whopping altitude difference of 800 m.

Away from the groomed pistes, freeride acrobats can also let off steam in the deep powder snow in the Espace San Bernardo and there is also a quaint 5.2-km network of ski routes for ski tourers.

Après ski La Rosière

Enjoy a cold aperitif on one of the many sun terraces in the ski area or indulge in dishes with historical influences from Savoyard or Italian Kitchen in the restaurants of La Rosière. When it comes to classic-style après ski in the Espace San Bernardo, then savouring is definitely the order of the day here. The highlight is certainly the 130 square metre "Igloo", where delicious cheese fondue is served for lunch between an ice bar and ice sculptures. At the end of a long day's skiing, the 9 ski huts in the resort also host a party or two.

Aside from the pistes and the culinary delights, the resort also has a number of other leisure activities to offer visitors. On the steel Panoramic Experience platform, which towers several metres above the abyss at the Fort chair lift, you can take spectacular souvenir photos against the backdrop of the peaks of the Savoy Alps. And winter sports enthusiasts looking for more adrenaline kicks can try snowkiting on the Little St. Bernard Pass or ice climbing and parachuting over the ski area. On the other hand, the regular torch-lit hikes by night are a little more dignified and romantic.

Snowpark: Poletta Snowpark La Rosière

Freestyle fans of all ages can let off steam undisturbed at the Poletta Snowpark in the La Rosière ski area. Accessible via the t-bar lift of the same name, young ski acrobats can first try out the three easy lines (green and blue). The red lines, on the other hand, are the ideal place for advanced skiers to perfect their tricks and grabs. Children can also gain their first experience of freestyle skiing on a mini boardercross course, travelling through tunnels and over waves.
