20 km Cross-country trails (in km):
Obertraun offers cross-country skiing enthusiasts over 20 km of groomed cross-country trails, which are suitable for both classic-style and skating-style skiing. The cross-country trails run picturesquely around Lake Hallstatt and through the Koppenwinkel nature reserve.
A special highlight is the Gjaid-Alm cross-country trail at 1,738 metres above sea level on the Dachstein plateau. This sunny and wind-protected trail is particularly reliable in terms of snow and allows cross-country skiing fun even when conditions in the valley are poor.
The use of the cross-country trails is free of charge and the Gjaid Alm invites cross-country skiers to enjoy a cosy break on its sun terrace.
The entire Dachstein West region has an extensive network of trails - approx. 223 kilometres of trails leave nothing to be desired.
