The Bohemian Ore Mountains offer several hotspots for cross-country skiing with well-connected cross-country trails. Nová Role is just a few kilometres south of the mountain ridge, where numerous cross-country ski trails are located, including the famous Ore Mountain Ski Route (SM) with over 200 km of the finest tracks. The nearest cross-country skiing area around Nové Hamy and Nejded is around 11 kilometres from Nová Role. The approximately 60 kilometres of cross-country trails are groomed at weekends and during the main winter months during the week.
Not far from the Plessberg ski area is another attractive network of cross-country trails. A total of 44 kilometres of trails run around the villages of Pernink, Horni Blatna and Abertamy, 34 km of which are also groomed for skating-style skiing. It is also possible to cross over to the Ore Mountains ski route and other areas such as Bozi Dar. There is also an approx. 1 km long circular trail in Pernink, which is floodlit for night skiing from 5 pm to 9 pm.
