Cross-country Giant Mountains

Information on cross-country skiing

500 km Cross-country trails (in km):

The Giant Mountains have an extensive network of cross-country trails with more than 500 kilometres of groomed trails for all levels. Well-known cross-country skiing centres can be found in Špindlerův Mlýn, Harrachov and Černý Důl, for example.

Špindlerův Mlýn offers a 96-kilometre network of daily groomed and well-maintained trails. More demanding cross-country skiers can take the chairlift from the mountain station to the Plán plateau and use the routes over the mountain ridge.

Around the Devil's Mountain near Harrachov, lovers of Nordic winter sports will find a real cross-country skiing paradise with around 108 kilometres of trails. The trails on the mountain ridges are particularly worthwhile. Those looking for longer tours will find the perfect starting point at the upper chairlift station on Teufelsberg for the 30-kilometre-long "Riesengebirgischer Skiweg" (Giant Mountain Ski Trail), which leads from Harrachov to Spindlermühle. The route offers magnificent panoramic views. The cross-country route along the impressive Mumlava waterfalls is particularly suitable for beginners.

With 10 kilometres of groomed trails, Černý Důl also offers cross-country skiing routes through the picturesque area of the Krkonoše National Park. From there, you have a breathtaking view of Sněžka, which rises to 1,603 m on the border with Poland. In Pece pod Sněžkou, 94 kilometres of trails lead through unspoilt nature and offer plenty of variety. If you enjoy letting off steam on gentle rolling hills, the Lusatian Mountains are the place for you.
