Cross-country ski trails in such beautiful, unspoilt nature can only be found in Defereggen Valley. The 71 kilometres of cross-country trails in Defereggen Valley are divided into classic-style trails and skating trails for all ability levels. The entire network of trails runs away from the roads through snow-covered meadows and forests. The trails are so perfectly interconnected that they allow you to tour along the Schwarzach through almost the entire valley. There are around 40 kilometres of cross-country ski trails in the immediate vicinity of St. Jakob.

The "Staller Sattel" high altitude cross-country ski trail with powder snow trails offers a sensational panorama thanks to its altitude of almost 2,000 m and the floodlit cross-country ski trail is a real highlight for the more adventurous. But the cross-country trails in the valley, surrounded by numerous three-thousand metre peaks, also offer unforgettable natural beauty! And almost the best thing about it: cross-country skiing is possible well into spring and is therefore not just limited to the winter months!
