Ski vacations Bregenzerwald - tradition and sunshine!

Between Lake Constance and the Arlberg, in the most western part of Austria, you can find the Bergenzerwald. The northern part is rather hilly, whilst towards the south the valley becomes narrow and the mountains become steeper. The Bergenzerwald is influenced strongly by its Swabian and Swiss neighbours and old traditions are still alive today. A good example of this is the "Cheese Street", an association of farmers, innkeepers, craftsmen and businesses, all combined in the traditional making of cheese. So don't forget to try the "Bergenzerwald Mountain Cheese". The region is however also popular for its snow security. Enjoy more than 506 km of piste and the lovely panoramic view of the Bergenzerwald!

Further possibilities include sleigh-rides in the moonlight, ice-skating or a torch hike through the snowy winter …

There is probably no better place to experience the authenticity of the area than in the local history museum. The parish church of St Jodok is also well worth a visit. In addition to this idyllic setting, there is also a wide range of leisure activities …

Warth-Schröcken

They are still mostly only known to insiders: the family-friendly districts of Warth and Schröcken are especially popular thanks to their traditional village character. Away from all the mass tourism, these districts lay embedded between the Arlberg, Lech and Bregenzerwald and form a real snow hole.
