Ski area Carezza

If you book the "Val di Fassa-Carezza" ski pass, you can enjoy almost 110 kilometres of perfectly groomed pistes with 54 lifts between 1,182 and 2,485 metres above sea level in the ski areas of Alba, Canazei, Campitello, Carezza, Pozza di Fassa, Vigo di Fassa and Nova Levante. In addition to numerous freeride and deep snow areas, there are mainly medium-difficulty descents, while ski cracks can look forward to black pistes such as the famous "Alberto Tomba" in Ciampedie and floodlit fans get their money's worth in Pozza.

Welschnofen's local ski area is Carezza. With innovative ideas and sophisticated technology, the Eisath family has made the ski area with its 40 kilometres of piste a real pioneer in terms of sustainability in the Alps. The sunny, sometimes steep slopes of the Catinaccio massif are a wonderful terrain for experts, but beginners and children will also find wonderful, flat and above all wide pistes here. A highlight are the two descents "König Laurin" and "Laurin I", which together are 7.7 km long and form the König Laurin Challenge with a difference in altitude of 1,132 m.

In addition, the "Panorama Skitour" connects the ski area of Ciampedie with that of Col Rodella. The famous "Sellaronda" is also easy to reach from the Val di Fassa-Carezza ski area. The 40 km long day tour on skis around the Sella massif is an absolute must for every ski fan! Along the slopes, numerous huts, the Rifugi, invite you to sunbathe and feast.

And that's not all: with the Dolomiti Superski lift pass (for an extra charge), you can discover not only the Sellaronda, but also 1,200 km of pistes and 450 lifts in 12 ski areas!

Rules of conduct on ski pistes in Italy

To ensure safety on the ski slopes in Italy, stricter safety regulations have been in force since 2022. In order to use the ski areas, everyone must have liability insurance that covers damage to third parties. It will also be possible to take out this insurance on site for individual days. Drunken skiing is prohibited and punishable by heavy fines, with a maximum of 0.5 mg of alcohol per litre of blood. To reduce the risk of injury, helmets are also compulsory for all minors when skiing, snowboarding or tobogganing.

Night skiing Carezza

There are some ski areas in Italy that light up their pistes in the evening, inviting you to ski by floodlight. One of these night skiing areas is Val di Fassa-Carezza, where the 1.6 km long Aloch piste in the Pozza di Fassa ski stadium is floodlit two evenings a week for night skiing. Numerous ski and snowboard races have already been held on this challenging piste. It is therefore more suitable for experts, even in the dark. With a valid multi-day ski pass (Val di Fassa-Carezza, Dolomiti Super Ski or Valle Silver), night skiing is free of charge. Otherwise, the night ski pass can be purchased on site.

Après ski Carezza

At the foot of the Catinaccio/Rosengarten in Nova Levante/Welschnofen, the classic-style après ski with loud music and cool drinks is a little more sedate. However, this does not mean that there are no umbrella bars or similar in the Carezza ski area. For example, after a long day of skiing, winter sports enthusiasts can stop off at Birdie's après ski umbrella on the Carezza Pass or at the Antermont umbrella bar, and the Hennenstall at the Hubertusbahn cable car is also a fun place to be. There are also numerous mountain huts along the pistes, which, like the restaurants and guesthouses in the village centre, serve many South Tyrolean specialities as well as modern, international Kitchen.

Winter sports enthusiasts who don't want to be pampered in the wellness oases of the accommodation establishments after skiing, but want to stay out in the fresh winter air, can of course also do so in Welschnofen. In addition to numerous winter hiking trails and snowshoe tours around the village, the 1.2 km long Hubertus toboggan run on Lake Carezza awaits in the ski area. And if that's not enough, you can take the car or bus to Bolzano, 22 km away, where cinemas, bars, clubs and other restaurants await alongside a wide range of cultural activities.

Snowpark Carezza: Snowpark

The Val di Fassa-Carezza ski area is a true paradise for freestylers. There are a total of three fun parks to choose from here. In Carezza, Welschnofen's local ski area, the Carreza snowpark can be reached quickly using the modern lifts. A "bouncy castle for free spirits" awaits on the Tschein piste with a total of three lines: the Family Fun Line for beginners, the Easy Line for advanced riders and the Medium Line for pros. The latter is not only peppered with metre-high kickers, but also has a 9-metre-long steel tube - a DFD tank - for sliding, which is unparalleled in South Tyrol!

From Pozza, freestylers can also quickly reach the Buffaure Park with the Pozza-Buffare cable car, where they can let off steam on various boxes, rails, tanks, kickers and a wallride against the backdrop of the Catinaccio group. In the centre of the Belvedere ski area, there is also the Dolomiti Park with various kicker lines for beginners, advanced and pros, a jibbing area with boxes, rails and corners, a slopestyle course and a big airbag.
