Cross-country Val di Sole

Information on cross-country skiing

45 km Cross-country trails (in km):

The Val di Sole boasts a pleasant 45 kilometres of cross-country trails that stretch along the valley between Dimaro and Passo Tonale, as well as some in the ski areas. Cross-country skiing has a long tradition in this part of Trentino and so it is not surprising that the various "Centro Fondo", the cross-country skiing centres in Val di Sole, are well equipped.

In addition to varied trails for beginners and experts, showers, changing rooms, equipment hire and cross-country skiing schools, the centres offer everything winter sports enthusiasts need for a successful day of cross-country skiing. Beginners even get a free taster lesson here. The trails of varying degrees of difficulty lead across snow-covered meadows or along the course of the River Noce. Those looking for altitude and a challenge, on the other hand, should not miss out on the approximately 8 km long high-altitude trail at Passo Tonale at an altitude of almost 1,900 metres. Once you reach the top, you are immediately rewarded with fantastic views of the imposing mountain giants - a climb that is well worth it! However, Val di Sole is not only well-positioned in terms of altitude, but also in terms of length: the longest trail measures 10 kilometres and leads through the dreamy municipality of Vermiglio. In addition, one kilometre of the trail is also equipped with floodlights so that winter sports enthusiasts can also skate and classic cross-country ski here in the evening.
