Ski vacations San Vigilio di Marebbe – Fun on the slopes and nature's beauty on the southern side of Plan de Corones!
San Vigilio di Marebbe
St. Vigil in Enneberg lies at an altitude of 1,285 metres to the south of Kronplatz (2,275 metres). This picturesque mountain village, with its population of just under 1,300 and its South Tyrolean charm, is situated in the Enneberg Valley and is surrounded by the imposing mountain scenery of the Dolomites. The village centre is characterised by the Ladin culture, which is deeply rooted in the region and is reflected in the architecture and the spoken language. Historical highlights include the monument to Katharina Lanz – known as the "Heroine of Spinges" because she was born here – as well as the Baroque parish church and the small, cosy wooden houses. The landscape around St. Vigil is characterised in particular by the neighbouring Fanes-Sennes-Prags Nature Park. As part of the Dolomites UNESCO World Heritage Site, it impresses with its massive rock formations and crystal-clear mountain lakes, including the nearby Pragser Wildsee, which also attracts visitors in winter. The best way to reach the "local ski area" at Kronplatz, with its 125 kilometres of slopes, is by the Miara gondola. There, winter sports enthusiasts can follow in the footsteps of the two former Italian professional skiers, Manuela and Manfred Mölgg, who hail from St. Vigil.
Plan de Corones
At the foot of the Plan de Corones (2,275 m), in the centre of the picturesque Val Pusteria, are 14 diverse and attractive South Tyrolean villages. Modern gondolas start from various stations and speed up to the peak, from which imposing 360-degree views unfold. Diverse sporting events take place here on a regular basis, e.g. the Val Pusteria ski marathons including the Valle di Casies run, the biggest sporting event in South Tyrol. 121 kilometres of piste, approx. 31 modern lifts, a half-pipe, as well as ample recreational and sporting opportunities and lively après ski ensure a good deal off piste! This ski area is also great for families, thanks to numerous facilities such as the "Croniworld".Getting to San Vigilio di Marebbe
