Ski area Watles - Malles Venosta

With the "Zwei Länder Skiarena" lift pass, you have access to a total of approx. 150 kilometres of slopes, approx. 15 km of ski routes and 37 lifts in 3 ski areas: Nauders am Reschenpass, Schöneben-Haideralm and Watles.

The Watles ski area is one of 15 ski areas in the Ortler Skiarena and is one of the most popular ski areas in the Vinschgau Valley. With its 10 kilometres, it is manageable for families and ideal for pleasure skiers of all ages. They all benefit from the mild climate, the wide slopes with snow-making facilities and enjoy the panoramic view of the peaks of the Sesvenna group in the border triangle between Italy, Switzerland and Austria. The "Prämajur" and "Watles" chairlifts take you up to the slopes, with the latter also taking toboggan fans to the popular floodlit night toboggan run. Children are expertly looked after in the Bubo Kinderpark ski kindergarten. A magic carpet, a ski carousel, a snow igloo, various play equipment and a children's restaurant await them here.

A highlight for speed skiers is the ski cross course, where you can race down the approx. 1 km long track at breakneck speed over waves, through steep wall bends and in fast changes of direction. Experienced deep snow fans can also enjoy the "Sautal" freeride run, a wonderful red route 4.5 kilometres long. The 5 km valley descent takes you back to the valley station in the village.

Rules of conduct on ski pistes in Italy

To ensure safety on the ski slopes in Italy, stricter safety regulations have been in force since 2022. In order to use the ski areas, everyone must have liability insurance that covers damage to third parties. It will also be possible to take out this insurance on site for individual days. Drunken skiing is prohibited and punishable by heavy fines, with a maximum of 0.5 mg of alcohol per litre of blood. To reduce the risk of injury, helmets are also compulsory for all minors when skiing, snowboarding or tobogganing.
