Ski area Merano 2000

On the sunny side of the Alps, "Merano 2000" offers a compact ski area with 40 km of pistes. The mostly easy to medium-difficulty descents extend from Falzeben (1,680 metres) up to the peak of the Kesselberg at 2,350 metres. The 3.5 km long piste from Piffing to Falzeben is floodlit once a week and guarantees fun in the snow until late in the evening.

Merano 2000 offers children a "Specialised Children's Ski School Südtriol" and a ski kindergarten, where even the youngest children are taught to ski by trained ski instructors at the baby lift. The ski area is also very family-friendly with "Luckis Kinderland", located directly at the top station of the cable car. Here, the little ones can try their hand at three magic carpets and wide, flat pistes or have fun playing and tobogganing in the snow, while parents can relax on the terrace of the Panorama Bistro.

Cosy skiers particularly appreciate the Kesselberg and Rotwand pistes, while experienced skiers and snowboarders can let off steam on the Mittager piste. Freestylers will find a snowpark with rails, jumps and tables on the Wallpach piste. The cosy huts scattered throughout the ski area provide excellent South Tyrolean specialities and hearty snacks.

Rules of conduct on ski pistes in Italy

To ensure safety on the ski slopes in Italy, stricter safety regulations have been in force since 2022. In order to use the ski areas, everyone must have liability insurance that covers damage to third parties. It will also be possible to take out this insurance on site for individual days. Drunken skiing is prohibited and punishable by heavy fines, with a maximum of 0.5 mg of alcohol per litre of blood. To reduce the risk of injury, helmets are also compulsory for all minors when skiing, snowboarding or tobogganing.
