Ski vacations Thale - dreamy winter paradise in the Harz!
Thale
The picturesque, fairly tale-like village of Thale is the largest resort within the romantic Bode Valley in the north-east of the Harz. This valley is the largest rock-face valley north of the Alps and is also known as the "Grand Canyon of the Harz" thanks to the spectacularly steep crags. This wild-romantic landscape with the little river Bode running through the basin, is easily accessible. Hence, the idyllic resort and the wonderful surrounding terrain in the Harz, is the perfect starting point for some entertaining holiday activities. Especially with regards to winter sports - be it tobogganing, skiing, cross-country or snowshoe hiking - the region around Thale has a lot to offer.Away from the pistes there is a diverse leisure time programme available. Relax and let go in the "Bodetal Therme Thale", which offers an indoor pool and sauna complex, but also massages and eatery areas. Some culture can be experienced in the ski and local museum of the Harz, or in the hut museum. Let yourself be spoilt in the Harz, enjoy fresh air and a diverse holiday!
Harz
The Harz is the most Northern winter sport area in Germany and offers a diverse wildlife on a 2,200 km² big expanse. As soon as the first snow falls, winter sports fans find their way into this magnificent area, which is made possible by the Brocken (1,141 m), the highest mountain in Northern Germany. Especially in the villages around the National Park Harz, which was founded transnationally in 1995, attractive Alpine skiing, as well as cross-country skiing areas have developed. Cross-country tracks and pistes with varying degrees of difficulty, as well as toboggan runs and nature ice areas arrange for diverse recreational fun for the whole family. The dreamlike winter landscape can also be explored by way of one of the versatile winter hiking trails. Furthermore, numerous rustic restaurants invite you to enjoy a cosy evening with local specialities or international cuisine.Travel Thale
