Ski area Großer Arber

The lift pass "Arber" grants access to 11.5 lovely kilometres of piste, which surrounds the "Großer Arber", one of the highest mountains of this German mid-country mountain range. The ski area is especially suited for families with children. The little ones can get the feel for snow and skis and the "ArBär Kinderland" children's area, where they will find magic carpets, a ski carousel and flat practise area.

Beginners and more experienced skiers can enjoy themselves on mainly easy to intermediate pistes in the ski area. However, pro don't have to miss out. Due to the great reliability for snow on the Arber, World Cup races have taken place here throughout the past three decades. The 1 km long race track is challenge for everyone and covers a difference in altitude of over 340 metres.

Whilst you can enjoy the wonderful panorama of the Bohemian Forest during the day, you can even continue skiing after dark on the floodlight pistes. Snowboarders can practise their moves in the funpark on elements such as boxes, rails, kickers and waverides.

Night skiing Lam

In the Bavarian Forest, night skiing is just as popular as in the other German ski areas, and you will also find a respectable night ski area at Großer Arber nearby Lam. Night skiing here takes place on three brightly illuminated pistes every Wednesday and Friday. The intermediate, red piste "Sonnenhang", the blue "Damenstrecke" piste as well as the very flat "Familienstrecke" piste are illuminated for night skiing. During the extended operation hours from 18:00 - 21:00, the 6-person chairlift Sonnenhang takes guests up to the freshly prepared night ski pistes. In the upper area of "Sonnenhang", night owls can take a break or end their evening after skiing at "Arber Stadl".

Après ski Lam

Snowpark: Snowpark Lam

The snowpark at Thurnhofhang lives up to the family-friendliness of the ski area at the Große Arber. It is not a fully-equipped park, but offers a diverse selection of elements for the whole family, including fun waves and small jumps for beginners and adventurous children. The visually separated area offers mainly a beginner line with soft mounds, small boxes and easy rails. Further, there is also children's area which belongs to the "ArBär Kinderland". The beginner area is held in easily recognisable blue colours and for security reasons, no metal elements are built in this park. Children's rails range to a maximum hight of half a metre. Due to these two separate areas, the crosspark is an interesting and diverse playground for all ages.
