Ski vacations Wenns - Holiday paradise with hospitality!

Wenns

The villages at the entrance to the Pitztal valley are small and manageable. The main town of Wenns (982 m) lies in a valley basin and is perfectly connected to the Hochzeiger ski area by a free ski bus. Due to the increasing number of guests, the infrastructure has been continuously modernised in recent years and the sports facilities have been expanded. Hotels have sprung up and changed the image of the villages, but despite all the change Wenns has managed to retain the charm of a former alpine and mountain village. The locals are very friendly and the atmosphere is informal. The landscape at the entrance to the valley is dominated by the Plattenrain (1,476 m) and Venet (2,512 m) mountains. Worth seeing is the "Hirschberg Castle" from the 13th century. Largely collapsed in 1921, it offers a romantic sight in winter.

Pitz Valley

Once an isolated tributary valley of the Inn Valley, the Pitz Valley has developed into one of the most important ski regions in Tyrol. Framed by the imposing 3,000 m mountains of the Oetztal Alps, the interior Pitz Valley is very much high alpine. A mellow landscape towered over by smooth mountains forms the valley's entrance; the Pitztal Glacier (3,400 m), which is second in Tyrol only to the Wildspitze (3,768 m), is found in the top of the valley. The resorts in the Pitz Valley attract guests with their straightforward, casual atmosphere and offer a modern infrastructure with many sports and leisure activities, numerous lodges and restaurants inviting visitors in for refreshments and entertaining apres ski!
