Ski vacations Schwendt - Pure tranquillity and relaxation in the picturesque Kaiserwinkl!
Schwendt
The tranquil mountain village of Schwendt lies at an altitude of 702 metres in the picturesque Kaiserwinkl region of Tyrol. Its population of just under 1,000 takes particular pride in the fact that the village, situated in the district of Kitzbühel, has retained its traditional character. The village is characterised by traditional farmhouses and a peaceful, alpine atmosphere. It is nestled in the Kohlental valley and framed by the striking peaks of the Wilder Kaiser, such as the Unterberghorn (1,773 m).Schwendt’s architectural landmark is the parish church of St Ägidius, with its serene bell tower, which makes the village a true haven for those seeking relaxation away from the winter hustle and bustle. That does not mean, however, that neighbouring towns such as St Johann in Tirol (15 km) or Kitzbühel (24 km) are far away. The same applies to the Hochkössen ski area, with its predominantly easy to moderately difficult runs in the neighbouring village of Kössen (5.5 km), which serves as Schwendt’s "home ski area". In winter, visitors can also try out activities such as winter hiking, snowshoeing and cross-country skiing in the village.
Kaiserwinkl
The impressive massifs of both Wilder and Zahmer Kaiser form the spectacular setting for the region of Kaiserwinkl with its winter sports resorts. The region which is directly on the border to Germany has recently developed into a true winter sport paradise. In total, 37 kilometres of piste provide an attractive range for skiers as well as snowboarders. The longest of these pistes measures 7 km and has a difference in altitude of over 1,000 m! Cross-country skiers will find all types of cross-country trails in the dense networks of tracks and across the frozen Walchsee. Along with this, there is excellent après ski and a wide range of leisure activities.Getting to Schwendt
