Ski area Axamer Lizum

With the "Axamer Lizum" lift pass, you can expect around 31 kilometres of perfectly groomed pistes and an additional 9 kilometres of varied ski routes at an altitude of between 1,560 and 2,340 metres. The 10-seater Hoadlbahn 1 gondola lift takes you from the parking space to the Hoadl house restaurant in less than 10 minutes. Axamer Lizum is part of the Innsbruck Olympic region and became famous as the venue for the Alpine skiing competitions of the 1964 and 1976 Winter Olympics. Thanks to its favourable location and 136 snow cannons, which can cover 85% of the pistes with snow, Axamer Lizum is considered to have a reliability of snow from December to April. Descents to the parking space are almost always possible. Rosi Mittermaier, who won Olympic gold there, has already skied on the pistes.

The medium-difficulty Olympic descents on the Hoadl are particularly beautiful and also suitable for less experienced skiers. The most difficult descent in the area starts at Birgitzköpfl and leads 2.5 kilometres down to the valley station over partly bumpy slopes. The challenging ski routes on the Hoadl and Pleisen as well as the open terrain also make the hearts of experts and freeriders beat faster. At the exit of the Karleiten lift, you will also find the varied "Golden Roofpark" with kickers, butter boxes, rails, spines and tubes.

So that you can share your impressions directly with friends and family, there are several free Wi-Fi hotspots available in the ski area.

Even more fun awaits you with the "SKI plus CITY Pass", which gives you unforgettable piste experiences on around 326 km of varied descent (see ski region).

Après ski Axamer Lizum

Axamer Lizum is a great place to round off a day's skiing with après ski. There are restaurants, après ski bars and a disco right by the valley station. Here you can enjoy the sun or party hard. A special tip is the Hoadl umbrella bar at the Hoadlbahn mountain station, which offers a view of the Kalkkögel and the Stubai Alps. Events are regularly organised at the Hoadl house in cooperation with radio stations.

The 3.9-kilometre-long toboggan run in Axams, which is even floodlit until midnight, provides more action. Winter and snowshoe hikers will also find ideal conditions here to pursue their passion. Ski tourers also get their money's worth in the Axamer Lizum. Official ascent tracks are available on the men's and women's slopes.

Only approx. 8 km away in the Muttereralm- Mutters/Götzens ski area, you also have the opportunity to ride Austria's first permanent route for fat and snow bike tours. The route leads along the FIS track down to the valley. A great experience for all those who want to conquer the slopes on more than just skis. A visit to the leisure centre in Axams is a great way to relax. There is an indoor pool with a heated outdoor pool and a large sauna area as well as ice rinks for ice skating and Bavarian curling. There is also a bouldering hall for those who want to keep climbing.
