Ski vacations Anras - sunny idyll in Alta Pusteria!

Anras

The idyllic Anras is located on the East Tyrolean side of the Alta Pusteria and is framed by the Lienz Dolomites and the Defreggen Mountains. Due to its altitude and location on a sunny upper terrace, the resort is usually bathed in light. This not only contributes to visitors' relaxation, but also adds the finishing touches to the surrounding mountain scenery. Here, a romantic mountain village atmosphere is all around. The municipality of Anras, with around 1,200 residents, is spread spaciously between a main village and multiple estates and hamlets.

Like many villages in the Alps, Anras also has an eventful history, which is not only reflected in the old buildings in the resort's centre. Schloss Anras, which served as a courthouse in the 19th century, is especially well worth seeing. Nowadays, exclusive concerts and exhibitions take place there. For further cultural sights, it's worth making a day trip to the district capital of Lienz, which is only around 22 km away from Anras. The town is the cultural centre of East Tyrol and, with its colourful inner city and Schloss Bruck, offers varied leisure activities.

Alta Pusteria

On the border to South Tyrol, away from any stress, lies the sunny Hochpustertal valley. In the middle of the picturesque mountains, the ski area present an awesome panorama view onto the Dolomites. Well groomed pistes and first-class cross-country tracks are only waiting to be explored. The skiing centre of Alta Pusteria also offers an attractive snow park covering an area of 30,000 m² in which boarders and skiers alike can have fun. Relaxation is also very important in Alta Pusteria: during a placid winter hike, a romantic horse-drawn sleigh ride or the cosy retreat into one of the Tyrolean guesthouses, the day-to-day stress takes a back seat.
